In July 2021, the Regents approved the UC Student Association (UCSA) Systemwide Fee and UC Graduate and Professional Council (UCGPC) Systemwide Fee. The UCSA Systemwide Fee was approved as an annual, opt-out fee of $7 per undergraduate student. The UCGPC Systemwide Fee was approved as an annual, opt-out fee of $7 per graduate student (inclusive of students in self-supporting graduate degree programs).

This fee is an optional fee, and UCSB students can opt-in or opt-out of it anytime in GOLD. Once a student has selected their opt-in or opt-out preference, that selection is set in perpetuity. A student does not need to set their preference every quarter.

Please follow the instructions below to update your preferences:



After logging into GOLD, navigate to the 'Registration' menu (found at the top if on a desktop computer or in the hamburger menu if on a mobile device):



Select 'Student Fees'. Once on this page, navigate to the 'UCSA/UCGPC Fee' header. Select your preference:

• To opt-out and not be charged this fee, select 'Yes - I would like to opt out of the fee.'
• To opt-in and to continue being charged this fee, select 'No - I would like to continue to be assessed this fee.'



Click Submit.
